Information we collect

When you create an account, we process your email address, username, authentication provider, and information needed to keep your account signed in. If you use email and password, Supabase Auth handles the password and Game Library does not store it in plain text. If you choose Google sign-in, Google supplies the identity and email information needed to authenticate you.

You may add a display name, biography, color preference, and avatar. You may also save games and their status, favorites, ratings, and hours played; publish reviews and lists; follow other players; and generate social activity from supported actions. Progression information such as level, rank, XP, and badges is calculated from your activity in the service.

Like most hosted web applications, our infrastructure providers may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser details, request times, and security or error logs when you use the site. Vercel Web Analytics also records anonymous, aggregate page-view information such as the page visited, referrer, general location, browser, operating system, and device type. It does not associate this information with your Game Library account.

Public and limited-access information

Usernames and public profiles are visible to anyone. Profile details, avatars, game-library entries and their saved details, reviews, lists, list items, follower and following relationships, and derived progression information are also public. Do not add information to these areas that you do not want others to see.

Your email address, authentication credentials, and session tokens are not shown on your public profile. Activity feeds require a signed-in account and are shown according to the service's follow relationships, but activity is a social feature and should not be treated as private storage.

How we use information

  • To create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, and recover access.
  • To provide profiles, game libraries, reviews, lists, following, activity, and progression features.
  • To display the content and profile information you choose to publish.
  • To operate, troubleshoot, protect, and improve the service and prevent misuse.
  • To respond to support, privacy, or account-deletion requests.

Game Library does not sell personal information or display advertising. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and improve the service, without advertising profiles or cross-site tracking.

Cookies and sessions

The application uses essential Supabase authentication cookies to maintain your session and protect signed-in actions. These cookies are needed for account features. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies, and the current application does not use advertising cookies.

Service providers and game data

Game Library relies on the following providers to operate:

  • Supabase provides authentication, database, file storage, and related backend services.
  • Google provides authentication when you choose Continue with Google.
  • RAWG provides game descriptions, release information, artwork, and other catalog data. Search and catalog requests are sent from the server without intentionally including your Game Library account identity.
  • Vercel hosts and delivers the web application and provides privacy-focused, aggregate Web Analytics.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices. Game Library may retain selected RAWG game metadata in its database so saved libraries, reviews, and lists can refer to consistent game records.

Retention and deletion

Account and user-created information is kept while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can edit or remove supported profile content, library entries, reviews, lists, follows, and avatars through the available controls. To request deletion of your account or information that cannot be removed in the application, use the contact method below.

Deleting an account removes the profile and associated user-owned records through the application's database relationships. Shared, non-personal game catalog records may remain because other players may use them. Limited copies may also remain temporarily in provider backups or security logs where required for reliable operation, security, or legal compliance.

Security

Game Library uses access controls, authenticated ownership checks, database row-level security, and server-only credentials to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so use a unique password and keep your account and email access secure.

Your choices and rights

You can review your public profile, update supported account details, remove content, unfollow players, and sign out. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you.

Policy updates

We may update this policy as Game Library changes. The effective date above will be revised when changes are published. Material changes may also be communicated in the application when appropriate.

Contact

For privacy questions or account-deletion requests, use the support contact published with Game Library's public project or Google OAuth consent screen. Please do not include passwords, recovery links, or other authentication secrets in a support request.
